Groove Guardian

Groove Guardian is a smart glove that tracks drummer performance and feeds data to a companion app to help prevent playing-related injuries. THE PROBLEM

Reducing drummer wrist injuries through awareness, tracking, and conditioning.

Professional and semi-professional drummers frequently experience wrist and hand musculoskeletal injuries caused by repetitive, high-intensity playing, while existing solutions are often intrusive, difficult to adopt, or fail to support long-term injury prevention. To address this, the project followed three key stages:

Research & Problem Definition

Research and interviews established the problem’s scale, enabling key pain points to be mapped and prioritised.

Concept Development

Focusing on the wearable glove, with the ability to track wrist and hand movement alongside a companion mobile app.

Prevention & Support System Design

Creating a connected system that provides performance insights, feedback, and tailored conditioning activities.
